| Long time no update! slovo has hardly gone out in the recent years. andr3w and nevesis wanted to go see one of our favourite DJs, Chris Anderson, so it was time for us to hit up Toronto. madbar was a nice, relatively small venue with two rooms. The highlight of the night for slovo was observing Chris Anderson making use of a laptop. Final Scratch has been out for a while, but it seems that North America (or at least Southern Ontario) has not yet caught on. Time-coded vinyl on laptop-monitored turn-tables allow the DJ to play music from a digital source, while retaining the traditional physical interface (turn-table). Chris Anderson also used ordinary records as well as some other Pioneer toy, making for a great set on a variety of equipment. slovo also found it nice to run into some acquaintances that he had not seen or heard from in a long time. |
