I decided to go to this party instead of Tone which was the night before. I think I made a mistake :P

This was a fairly small party, which was okay, but the music was definitely crappy, overall. The Jelo/decepticon back-to-back/tag-team thing really sucked. Very inconsistent style wise (genres of music) and the mixing was off on many occasions, and the fact that the music cut out or skipped occasionally was another downer. For some reason Sean Miller came on before Alchemy and I have to give props to Sean Miller because I haven't seen a DJ kill a party like this. I was expecting Sean Miller's nice brand of trance but instead got pounded on even more by dark and poorly spun together music; not to mention that he played some really ass tracks through his set. I mean what the fuck happened there? Sean Miller: you suck. I think I might as well mention that the set Sean Miller played at WEMF last year was almost identical to his tape that he had out. Is his problem lack of creativity or mixing skills? Either way he sucks and I know that he's one DJ I won't be caring about when I check what's going on for my partying...

The sound system and the lighting were okay.. Considering how much the music ruined the party I didn't really care :P I spend most of the party just goofing around with my friends, talking to Charlie, and just playing with the snazzy new digital camera I have access to :P I also found the Humpy-Oafie-Dancer-Guy quite amusing. He was dancing around in a very bottom-heavy fashion, while flailing his arms around. It was even funnier when he exchanged props with this other guy who danced like he was having seizures; Charlie described it as: It was like a moron in a debate, rebutting someone with, "Well you're dumb!" and another moron congratulating him for his sly wit; a real great Kodak moment that I missed ;(

I've also been pondering what the purpose of this site really is.. I go to parties, take photos, and then write up a critique. I don't think that's really what I intended. I also don't intend for this to be a big publicity thing for raves, and ending up bringing in even more losers who go just to get retarded on drugs and make the parties shit. Un1ty definitely had good intentions for their party, check their flyer. Even though there was a fair bit of dancing and a lack of idiot-piles of morons passed out on the floor because they can't handle their drugs, there was a lack of crowd and vibe. I'm sure a good part of that was because the music was getting to everyone, people I talked to thought so as well. With all that in mind, I think I would check out another Un1ty party, and hope they learn from the mistakes they made this party (i.e. Sean Miller) and throw a wicked one in the future.

slovo had to get a shot of one of the neat things they did with the lighting

Here's a shot of this crazy Chinese lady who was wearing a giant cross and riding her bike. We were just standing around in front of this Coffee time and she started to harass us, accusing us of drugs and telling us that the government is against everyone and hiding secrets (so you tell me, who is the one on drugs here?). We thought it was funny and wanted to take a picture. She said she wanted money for us to take a picture of her, but we took one anyways :P

Chinatown really needs to clean up their streets; look at all that garbage!

Four of us (Constance, slovo, Lonnie, and Simon who took the picture) scrunched in the back of Josh's poor car on the way back. As you can see slovo didn't mind my situation :P
