pHryL - Machine Saturdays

Okay, now where did everyone go?! There was a large lack of people at this event; for reasons I can't figure out. In any case, I don't have too much to comment about other than I'm very thankful to one of the XIT security people who helped me find my backpack and it's contents that I left behind last week (long story, don't ask). I had asked another security guard or two if they had it and/or where it might be, and they pointed me to a couple places in the club where it might be, but it was not there. They told me that if it wasn't in either of those places then it wasn't anywhere in the club. I was pretty upset, but asked another security guard while I was upstairs and she knew exactly what I was looking for and dug it up for me from behind the bar. Boy was I relieved! I just wanted to say thanks and show my appreciation to one of the few security people at XIT who actually seemed decent..

Other than that one little story, there isn't much. XIT's a nice club; the sound, lighting, and general environment were nice to be in. The music was okay but I don't think I'm really into funky Detroit-style techno; I liked last week's Swedish mechanical pounding much more. The lack of people was somewhat of a disappointment... Security also hassled me over the whole camera thing too. andr3w made a good comment regarding security's anal anti-camera issue: "They don't want us to have any memories". I mean c'mon, what the hell am I gonna do with a camera? Leave me alone, you dickwads. We ended up leaving around 3-something AM after hearing Frankie J and DJ Bone (not to be confused with DJ Frankie Bone J).

We should have some pictures up once Lonnie gets her film developed and I scan them.

I checked out the review on your web page. Pretty good. I didn't know you were at Machine's opening Night. I was there too for a while....I spent some time both upstairs and downstairs...and frankly, I think I missed Adam's set...boo hoo.

I agree with your review of both Machine and ..ah.."???". I'm kinda dissapointed that Phryl shut down there Machine's..I thought the first one I was at was great!! Plus their Clockwork 3 party was intense.
